I spent a few hours this morning hunting for migrants at New Galena and nearby Plumb Rd access. Waterbirds were virtually absent, but landbirds had good variety if not numbers. Highlights included:

Flycatchers - only a few, including Wood Pewee, Acadian, and Phoebe

Vireos - good numbers, with 7 Warbling, 3 red-eyed, 3 White-eyed, and 1 Yellow-throated

Thrushes - Swainson's, Veery, and Wood Thrush, all along the Plumb Rd access

Mimids - no Mockers, but large #s of Catbirds (65+) along with 2-3 Brown Thrashers

Warblers - 10 species: Nashville, CapeMay, Black-thr.Green (5), Magnolia (6), Blackburnian, Bay-breasted, Blackpoll, Black&White (3), Redstart (6), ComYellowthroat (5). best spot for them was the small forested pond at the end of the Plumb Rd access.
