Due to power disruption from Ike, I didn't have to go to work today...Yippee! more birding opportunities. At first I TRIED to go to Glacier Ridge but it was blocked off both ways for some reason. So I went over to Godwit country today instead. It was still there...Looks like the limp is about gone.

While there, I think I saw a Juvi Wilson's Phalarope. I left a picture up on the OOS sight, so if someone can confirm for me I'd be grateful.

Also I saw a bunch (over a dozen) of yellowlegs, mostly lesser, Pectoral sandpipers about 6. Two great Egrets, Three Green Herons, one GBH, one Turkey vulture....And I think that something is wrong with the Killdeer population..I only saw a dozen..:)

It was getting dark and I thought about heading home...then I smacked myself...Chimney swifts are less than 6 minutes away and I was going home?!...I don't think so!...I headed over to the middle school and was awe struck at the amount of birds that can fit in a chimney and by the sound. I commented to another birdwatcher there that it sounded like a high pitched machine gun.

Sigh! What a great day off.

Happy Birding and God Bless.
