On a quick walk around Kendall Lake in the CVNP last evening just before the sun set behind the Kendall hills, Karin Tanquist and I were rewarded with stunning light patterns and a nice collection of migrants and residents wherever the low-slung sun was still hitting the bush and treetops.

Highlights included:

3-Chestnut-sided Warbler
3-Black-throated Blue Warbler
4-Magnolia Warbler
4-Black-throated Green Warbler
1-Cape May Warbler
5-Blackpoll Warbler
3-Red-eyed Vireo
1-Yellow-throated Vireo
