The White Pelicans were still present tonight from 7-8 PM at Hoover Reservoir but had moved to the southwest. They were sitting on a rocky shoal which usually holds gulls and commorants that is about due East of Wiese Rd. and could be viewed from the Galena (Area M) boardwalk although at a good distance. I believe that the rowing crew activity earlier in the evening may have disturbed the birds as the boats were passing close to the East shore.

The water level appears to be dropping faster in the last few days around the boardwalk but there were fewer total shorebirds this evening with no species of particular note. Two juvenile Ospreys and one adult were present around the nest platform sharing a fish.
