The White Pelicans continued to be present in the northern reaches of Hoover Reservoir this morning.  They were first seen off the gravel bar north of the East Side Yacht Club, then later were swimming in the bay just behind there.  Late in the morning, they swam over towards the Boardwalk, where they treated spectators to their synchronized feeding behavior.  Great birds, so get out to see them soon.

Since I was in most of these areas, I can also vouch that the mudflats are developing well here.  The flats along Wiese Rd were the thinnest, but flats at the Boardwalk and the East side are sizeable now.  Waders and shorebirds in 2 hours included:

Great Blue Herons - 25
Great Egrets - 3 near Boardwalk
Green Herons - 3
Kildeer - 120
Semipalmated Plovers - 4
Spotted Spr - 3
Solitary Spr - 4 all at Boradwalk, where they offered great views
Gr,Yellowlegs - 1 Boardwalk
L.Yellowlegs - 48
Least Spr - 6
Woodcock - 1 flushed up along the old road in Area M
Ring-billed Gulls - 110

Landbird migration was meager, mostly of a small pulse of migrant in the morning at Wiese Rd.  The only notables were Blackburnian, Chesnut-sided, Magnolia, and Wilson's Warblers
Caspian Terns - 8
