Hello All,
Thanks to Gabe Leidy for yesterday's post on diminutive shorebirds
at the Lorain Impoundment. All 5 Ohio "peeps" were still present
today just before noon. All birds were observed at relatively close
range including 3 juvie Bairds, 1 adult White-rumped, and 1 juvie
Western sandpiper. Mosquitoes were not a problem there today.

Further West at Medusa Marsh, and scoped from the exit SR 2
west-bound exit ramp, the Tri-colored Heron was foraging among
8 or so Snowy Egrets in the middle of the impoundment. The TCHE
was barely visible with bins, so a scope is highly recommended.

Another update from the Bellevue area near the railroad tracks on
T292 (Riddle Rd)... Water is still present in all 4 quadrants of this
intersection but is evaporating rapidly, so this may be the last
weekend for decent shorebird habitat there. Eight-ten of the more
expected shorebird species were found, and in good numbers, but
today's highlight was 12 Buff-breasted Sandpipers that spent most
of their time in the SW quadrant, in the drier yellow-grass area. The
Marbled Godwit, Wilson's and Red-necked Phalaropes, reported
earlier, were not present, but the Peregrine Falcon and an American
Kestrel kept things stirred up from time to time.

Good Birding!
