Mary and I checked out the parts of Hoover Reservoir (Columbus) visible from
beach near the the boat ramp at the end of Oxbow Road.  No pelicans were in
sight.  The beach "near" the boat ramp included beach areas accessible in
both directions within about 1/2 hour (total) of walking.

Other reports suggest that the birds are hanging out considerably farther
north on the Reservoir.
