SPECIES IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS ARE REVIEW-LIST SPECIES. Details of
these sightings are desired by The Ohio Bird Records Committee.
Careful observation, not ornithological expertise, is the only
qualification for submitting your data. For details and pointers see:
http://www.ohiobirds.org/records/documentation.php.

Cackling Goose: David Russell reported three from Acton Lake on the 21st.

Red-throated Loon: John Pogacnik tallied one on his Lake County lake-watch on the 19th.

Franklin’s Gull: One continued at East Fork State Park at least through the 19th. Another was at Acton Lake on the 21st.

Little Gull: John Pogacnik tallied one on his Lake County lake-watch on the 19th.

PARASITIC JAEGER: John Pogacnik reported a fly-by on his Lake County lake-watch on the 18th.

EURASIAN COLLARED DOVE: The Bobolink RBA (330-763-5119) reports that the previously reported Coshocton County bird is once again being seen south of Baltic in the usual area along TR 237. I believe this is near the intersection with TR 236.

Northern Saw-whet Owl: Multiple captures were reported from banding stations on Kelly’s Island and near Chillicothe and Oxford.

Northern Shrike: Early reports have come in from Mentor Marsh State Nature Preserve, Lake County, and from near Girdham and Reed Roads in Oak Openings Metropark, Lucas County.

Clay-colored Sparrow: Tom Barlett reported one on the 19th from Kelly’s Island along the wet area of the North Pond trail.

Le Conte’s Sparrow: Suzanne Wagner reported one on the 20th from Mentor Marsh State Nature Preserve, Lake County.

Nelson’s Sharp-tailed Sparrow: Reported on the 19th from Funk Wildlife Area and from the Wake Robin Trail at Mentor Marsh State Nature Preserve.
