Greetings birders -

A quick run of roadside birding in Brecksville Reservation (Cleveland Metroparks), on Meadows Drive, turned up the following migrants:

Tennessee Warbler - 2
Nashville Warbler - 3
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 4
Palm Warbler - 6
Chipping Sparrow - 25 (single flock)
Field Sparrow - 2 (with Chippings)
White-throated Sparrow - 2
House Wren - 4
Common Grackle - single flock of 300+

Migrants have been very steady at Brecksville Reservation for the past week. (Always) Good areas to check include the Station Road Trailhead and the edge of the prairie in front of the nature center.

At West Creek Reservation, in Parma, today, a sparrow hike could not turn up yesterday's Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrow. In fact, numbers of sparrows dropped significantly, showing great turnover.
A small flock of passerines in the marsh area near the parking lot included:

Yellow-rumped Warbler - 13
Palm Warbler - 5
Cape May Warbler - 1
Scarlet Tanager - 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 1
Winter Wren (farther down the trail) - 1

best of birding -
Jen
