After a morning of birding on Hoover, I walked over to Lazelle Woods to
see what was around. I had some pretty interesting finds including at
least 4 yellow-bellied sapsuckers, several ruby-crowned kinglets, and a
couple of golden -crowned kinglets. Other species seen were as follows:
Red-Bellied Woodpecker
Hairy Woodpecker
Downy Woodpecker
Eastern Phoebe
American Crow
Carolina Chickadee
White-Breasted Nuthatch
Carolina Wren
Yellow-Rumped Warbler
Tennessee Warbler
Magnolia Warbler
Northern Cardinal
Song Sparrow
House Finch
American Goldfinch
Song Sparrow
When I got home there was an American Kestrel sitting on a wire behind the
Polaris Best Buy. There were also 10 American Goldfinches clinging to the
finch sock in front of my apartment.
