Was at the Ohio Young Birders this weekend (an inspiring event!) and
several folks ask me what will be happening with access to the
boardwalk..............so I thought it was time to clarify a couple of
things for birders.

No, the road will not be closing that leads back to the boardwalk.
No, we are not planning on getting a shuttle bus. \
There are no plans to take out any of the parking areas at this time.

As for birds, they are still coming through.......................fall
birding can be challenging, but the boardwalk sure is peaceful!
In the short time I had to see what was here this morning I found the
following species..........

Black Duck
Wood Duck
PB grebe
Bald Eagle
Winter Wren
Swainson's thrush
Hermit thrush
Blue-headed vireo
Yellow bellied sapsucker
Juncos
White-throated sparrows
Swamp sparrow
Tree Swallows (hundreds of them on the road)
Black Throated Blue warblers (several nice males)
Blackburnian
Yellow-rumps everywhere
Rusky blackbirds
Cattle egret

The road beyond the Bird Center will be closed M-F and Saturday mornings
beginning Oct. 14th due to the controlled waterfowl hunt. It will be
open on Saturday afternoons and all day on Sundays. The Bird Center and
Walking Trails will remain open all year.
Happy Birding!
