I spent the morning roaming the paths in the southern reaches of this Park in south Columbus, mostly focusing on the Confluence area and the Groveport Blacklick Bikepath. Once the fog cleared, a good mix of late migrants became active. Two hours produced the following highlights:

woodpeckers - quite a few Flickers at both sites, but only GBB had sapsuckers

flycatchers, swallows - not a one, which is the first time this Fall

vireos, thrushes - a few Blue-headeds were at the Confluence area, while both spots had Swainson's & Gray-cheeked Thrushes. Robins were abundant, especially along the GBB, where they were feeding on honeysuckle and hackberry fruits

Horned Larks - several flyovers at both sites indicated that these late daytime migrants are starting to move.

warblers - yellow-rumps common everywhere, while other species were fewer and more localized. Black-thr.Greens (2) and Cape Mays (2) were along the GBB. Better were a Parula male at the GBB, while Black-throated Blues were at both sites. Best was a beautiful male Hooded flitting around the shrubs bordering Turle Pond at the Confluence

Sparrows - lots of small flocks of White-throated Sparrows at both spots, while a flock of 8-10 Chipping Sparrows was hanging around the pines at the Confluence.

Blackbirds - a steady stream of small flocks of Redwings was flying overhead at both spots, but other blackbirds were much scarcer.
