This is the tale of our castaway it's here for a little bit of time.... Sorry, I have been waiting to use that line and couldn't wait any longer. :-)

I went over at noon and met Dave and Dave who reported that it was still there..when the falcon wasn't. Seems a falcon flew by and spooked everything. I went on over to the dike and found that it had returned within about 10 minutes. Along with what loooked to be some Dunlin.

They stayed around for about another half of an hour then flew off towards the south. Chances are good that we will see it again tomorrow.

They are getting habitat ready for duck season so one of the holding ponds has been drained and pumped into a marsh area. Lots of Carp exposed...should be good heron/egret/eagle weather :-) Lots of mud too so there might be some more shorebird activity...We'll have to see.

Time to go build jigsaw puzzles (a.k.a. Civics...when you think about it, it's one giant jigsaw puzzle)

Happy Birding

Steve
