Rusty Blackbirds are migrating. Watch for them. Please record flock size and
location for each observation. Share your observations with researchers by
entering them into eBird (https://ebird.org/ebird/CheckUserLogin). Enter
flock size and habitat descriptions/locations in the 'notes field'.

Pencil-in time on your calendar from February 7 through February 15 2009 for
birding in places you think you can find rusty's. A North America-wide
effort to locate winter populations of rusty's is in the works. Your help is
needed. Last year's eBird emphasis on rusty's was successful. This coming
year a much larger effort will be launched. Watch eBird for details in
December.

eBird is easy to use and can serve you as your personal data base for all
your bird records while making your observations available to a growing
community of eBird users including researchers.

If you don't want to use eBird regularly, please consider registering to
enter your observations of Rusty Blackbirds (and other birds of conservation
concern). Your observations of rusty's will be used by researchers currently
studying their steep long-term population decline.

I'll enter more information in the bird forum under Conservation.
