I personally have no qualms about paying $35 (or whatever) a year to ODNR for land use. The bulk of my birding and photography in Ohio is done in state wildlife areas and state forests. Bill Whan does raise some very valid points, though. It would be nice to have some input on that survey as to how exactly the money would be put to use. Will it be used to buy more land, do some prairie burns, or draw down some wetlands during peak shorebird migration periods? If that's the case, then they have a real selling point to birders. On the other hand, will the funds be used to "reintroduce" more Trumpeter Swans? I'd like to know.
