I had good intentions of hitting some inland spots today, but the roads/weather were hideous at certain places here in NE Ohio.  I tried first to check an old favorite, Summit L. in Akron.  With bins I quickly saw mallards, buffleheads, ruddy ducks, Am. coots, and ring-billed gulls.  As I set my scope up, a total white-out engulfed the lake.  I tried to wait it out, but it didn't look good.  So I headed back west to Mahoning Co.  First I scanned L. Milton; it was less than thrilling, with 200 mallards, 33 Am. black ducks, 4 buffleheads, 45 hooded mergansers, 2 common mergansers, 4 pied-billed grebes, bald eagle, Am. coot, 7 Bonaparte's gulls, ring-billed gulls, 10 herring gulls, Carolina wren, and Am. tree sparrow present.  Next stop was the Rte. 224 causeway at Berlin Res.  Only thing of note there was 125 Bonaparte's gulls.  On the way home, I saw ~700 Am. crows in Poland Twp.  Another Am. kestrel has set up it's wintering territory in
Coitsville Twp, and 35 ring-billed gulls at the always gull-less King's L. there was a surprise today.  Later, Craig
