Some casual birding at Oakwoods Nature Preserve near Findlay in Hancock County this morning turned up a female Rose-breasted Grosbeak.  This bird was eating berries from a dogwood (I'm no expert on dogwoods, but I think it was Red-osier Dogwoood; whitish berries, white pith, reddish stems).  Also present were Rusty Blackbirds in a mixed blackbird flock.  For anyone interested in herps, I also heard a single Western Chorus Frog calling at Oakwoods.  

Yesterday I hiked at Riverbend Recreational Area near Findlay (also a part of Hancock County Park District parks).  Rusty Blackbirds were present in mixed blackbird flocks along the Blanchard River.  I was surprised to hear the call of a Red-shouldered Hawk near the wetland area.  Also present was a single Chipping Sparrow.
