jerry talkington just called me and reports an adult pomarine jaeger under observation for 10 minutes and an immature black-headed gull which jerry thought was different from the bird at headlands beach state park yesterday (11/16/2008) early this afternoon at eastlake. the eastlake black-headed gull was a darker black under the wing tips than the hbsp bird. three, possibly four, black-headed gulls along the lakefront in a week's time i believe is unprecedented in lakefront birding. lake effect squalls continue so be mindful of possible bad travel here along the lakeshore.
