As reported Sunday Rick and I found four Cave Swallows at Rocky Fork
State Park. Two at the North Beach and two at the East Shore Overlook. I
contacted Jay Lehman and he was able to take time to come out and
observe the birds we originally found. Jay Lehman was observing the
birds at the North Shore while we located the two other birds at the
east end of the lake. There was also a Tree Swallow present. After
looking at photos that Rick took of the birds we discovered that there
was also a Northern Rough Winged Swallow present. The Cave Swallows had
rufous coloration to the throat and rump. The rufous on the throat
extended through the auricles and around the nape. The rufous coloration
is lighter than seen on a Cliff Swallow. One of the birds was juvenile
based on the pale throat coloration.

Documentation has been submitted to the OBRC.
