the 2 very tame purple sandpipers at headlands beach state park were again quite obliging this morning (11/20). today, with no hunters present, the birds were withing 250 yards of the beginning of the breakwall leading to the lighthouse. no unusual gulls were detected among the thousands which could be seen from the breakwall.
