New yard bird! Right at dusk -- too dark for pictures -- as I went to gather my mail, I heard the unmistakable 'hoot' of a great-horned owl. Right above the ridge of houses not more than 20 ft in front of me sat a Great-Horned Owl serenading a female who sat in a few trees over. She silently flew off, with him following.
