There was a decent movement of birds today with good numbers of gulls and
waterfowl. Red-breasted mergansers made up most of the waterfowl, but
several surf and black scoters were noteworthy. Most of the gulls were
ring-billed, but there were also decant numbers of herring and Bonaparte's
gulls. Gulls of note were little and lesser black-backed gulls. I also had
a single dark rough-legged hawk. It was flying out over the lake around
7:15. Interestingly, there were no loons or grebes today.
