        Another call from John Habig informs us that Rick Asamoto moved to the
Harveysburg Rd site on the other side of Caesar Creek Lake and found an
eared grebe.
        This reminds me to mention that Ohio's rarer loons and grebes are found
in fall more often at inland reservoirs than on Lake Erie. We haven't
had a good Pacific loon sighting since 1996 (at Caesar Creek Lake, by
the way), the last western grebe was at Lima's Ferguson Res, and the one
before that two years earlier at Caesar Creek, too! So southern Ohio
birders who shy away from the long trip to Lake Erie might seek the
unusual closer to home.
