Blacklick Woods continues to push out unusual birds. This morning I had a late House Wren lurking in the small meadow adjacent ot the Buttonbush trail. Six minutes of viewing gave me all the field marks, even the call, to differentiate it from the more-expected Winter Wren. We've had them reported on local Christmas Counts a few times, but there's always the worry that they're mis-IDed Winter wrens. Other highlights in the woodland trails included 2 Pileated woodpeckers, several small flocks of cedar waxwings, 2-3 Brown Creepers, and 2 E. Towhees. The Nature Center wasn't open that early in the morning, so I wasn't able to easily re-check if the Fox & Tree Sparrows were still haunting the feeders there.
