Had a nice day,Here's a rundown of notables and location, and reports from other locals.
Mentor Headlands (out by the lighthouse)
Black Headed Gull -2 (1st winter & winter adult)
Little Gull-5 3 adult ,two younger
Bonaparte's- bazillions
Franklin's- 1 tends to hang off the edge of outer breakwall
Parasitic Jaeger- 3 showed up in 10 minute intervals from East to West.
Pomarine Jaeger-1 same
Long Tailed Duck -3 flybys reported by the crew
No Purple Sandpipers
Mentor Lagoons
Mixed flock of about 30 birds
Surf Scoter
Black Scoter
Pine Siskins- 2 in alders
Eastlake (Kinda slow)
Mergs
Greater Blacked backed Gull- 6
72nd & Burke 12pm...
Lesser Black backed Gull- 1 first year
Harlequin - 1 2pm (right after the McCarty-Leidy heads up)
Peregrine -2 @ Burke 1@ 72nd
Kestrel -1
No visible Snowy Owl
Good numbers of large gulls starting to show, a dark mantled hybrid is there... again.
