I stopped by the Wilds today on my way home from a holiday road trip and
immediately found a Northern Shrike off of Zion Ridge Road near the
intersection of State Route 146. This is the same time and same place as
last year that a Shrike showed up here - and makes for the third year in a
row that a Shrike could be found in this location. Last year though, the
bird was only found once during the last week of November and was not
relocated during the rest of the fall and winter. I also spent about half
an hour looking for Golden Eagle at its previous season's reliable spots and
had no success in locating this species.
