Count me among the birders who searched fruitlessly for the Preble Co.
Snowy Owl today. Susan Williams and I were there around noon. We drove
up and down the side roads, including New Paris-Gettysburg, Hawley
Mills, School Lane, Orangeburg, and Eaton-Gettysburg Rds. We even
crossed over I-70 at one point and did a brief search of that area. We
did see other birders out making the effort, including one car of women
birders we passed multiple times and a couple in a truck who we stopped
to speak with (Sorry, didn't get your names.) They were also having no
luck.
We did see a Cooper's hawk and a flock of Horned Larks. On the drive up
and back, we had 9 Red-tailed Hawks and 2 American Kestrels.
