I was on an organized bird walk this morning in Lake County when Dan Sanders rolled in and said there were over 20 scoters at Sims Park - including two Surf Scoters. I went over there later 12:30 to 1:45 to see as I had been there yesterday in the AM when the weather was just "to nice" and hadn't seen anything anywhere yesterday. The weather got worse Fri afternoon. He also mentioned seeing a Cackling Goose up close at Sims but I haven't been looking at geese closely. Mark Nolls and others were there when I arrived and then left. Matt Valencic and I continued looking and the best I could come up with were:

Black Scoters 22
Surf Scoter 2
Horned Grebe 1
Bufflehead - few
Scaup - didn't count -others saw more
Red-breasted Mergansers - multiple hundreds
