A group of us continued east from the Kirtland Bird Club field trip this
morning. The field trip held at Perry Park had moderate numbers of ducks
and good numbers of Bonaparte's gulls. There were quite a few horned grebes
and few common loons. Red-breasted mergansers made up the majority of the
waterfowl. The only other waterfowl seen were tundra swan and common
goldeneye.

In Ashtabula County there seemed to be decent numbers of Bonaparte's gulls
everywhere we went, but we were unable to find anything out of the ordinary.
The best stop was Lakeshore Park in Ashtabula where we found a BRANT and 5
surf scoters. Our visits to Geneva and Conneaut failed to turn up anything
of note other than snow buntings at Conneaut and an out of place ring-necked
pheasant along the lakefront at Geneva State Park.
