Gary Cowell brought up a good question. I was wondering the same thing recently. I've had flocks of Pine Siskins feeding on Thuja occidentalis cones in my yard for a couple weeks now.

I observed Pine siskins again at 3 different locations in Richland Cty. today
(11/9/8).

Bellville Cemetary-45
Richland B&O Trail "Mi.post15-16"-1
Kingwood Center-1

All the siskins that I have seen so far this year have either been flyovers or
flocks feeding
in Thuga occidentalis aka White cedar/Eastern arborvitae.
Has this been the normal sighting of them other than feeders so far ?
