At 3 PM there were at least three WHITE-FRONTED GEESE at the Melvin Stone Quarry along with one Snow Goose, lots of Mallards and a mix of Black Ducks, Lesser Scaup, Pintail, Bufflehead and Ring-necked Ducks. The geese were along the edge and there may have been quite a few more since many of the birds were sleeping and bunched together. A scope is required for ID. Melvin is seven miles east of Wilmington on
St.Rt. 22.
Happy Birder Cheers, Larry Gara
