While on a morning bird walk in the CVNP along the Boston Run trail (north of 303 across from Happy Days) with 9 others, we came across a flock of about 7-10 crossbills at the northern end line of hemlocks near the Summit Hike and Bike trail. Both male and female birds. Also had a barred owl in there too.

Arriving home (Sagamore Hills) about 11:45, we found about 30-35 pine siskins at our feeder and sweet gum trees. At one time we counted about 25 on our house roof picking at the gumball seeds that cover the roof at this time. Another time we had 11 on the ground beside the car, too close for binocular focus. It took awhile for us to get into the house.
