My brother Kevin and I drove to Big Island this afternoon.  
We saw very few small birds.
Hawks, swans and owls were the birds of the day.

 Birds seen were
3 great blue herons
many flocks of Can. geese flying  mostly after 5pm
one flock of ducks(mallards?)
2 red tailed hawks
2 kestrels
at least 8 n. harriers 
at least 10 short eared owls flying from just before 4:30 to dark.
6 at viewing deck on Rt. 95 and 3 along LaRue- Prospect road.
1 on St. Rt. 309 1/2 mile east of Hardin Co. line.
tundra and trumpeter swans
flicker
goldfinch
starlings
house sparrows
crows
