Looks like the long eared season has begun. I was over at killdeer and spotted 1 long eared owl. It was on the cedar tree in front of the barn in front of the owl roosting/wintering site. (Not the ones that are out in the field.)

There was a Bard Owl in the pine grove roost site as well.

No saw-whets or short eared spotted today at either Killdeer or Big Island.

Also spotted:

10 Red Headed woodpeckers
2 Red bellied woodpecker
2 Eagles
1 Mockingbird
+10 Bluejays
4 Trumpeter Swans; 2 each at killdeer and big island.
2 red tailed
+10 Harriers
7 Snow geese
Countless Canadian Geese
Tree sparrows
Song Sparrows
Savannah Sparrow

Happy Birding and God bless.

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.
30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

(Matthew 10.29-31)
