Last night at 6:15-ish while outside putting up Christmas lights, I heard a
flock of Canada geese flying over and looked up to watch. About a minute
later I heard another sound and looked up again and found the Tundra swans flying
over. Counted 96 in 2 different formations headed south east and pretty high
up. After they were out of sight I had to finish the lights. While pulling
lights around a set of pines I looked inside the tree and saw something move.
And there it was, my first little saw whet owl just staring at me while I
stared back. After a few minutes of up close appreciation I moved on to the other
 trees.

Stay warm guys and good birding,
Dan G.
