This afternoon Bob Powell and I decided to check the Sugar Grove Cemetary in Wilmington for Crossbills since they have been reported there several occasions in the past. After striking out there we went to Cowan to check for Sandhills. None again but amidst the many Canada Geese and scattering of ducks there was a small white Goose which Bob decided had to be a Snow Goose. I suspect it is the same bird that Rick Asamoto and John Habig first thought might be a Ross's. It was far out and we did not have our scopes. Bob is probably correct. It is definitely not a domestic goose. It provides a neat contrast to all those Canadas and whatever it is it gave us a boost after striking out on those we had missed.

Happy Birder Cheers, Larry Gara
