An uber-cooperative adult Thayer's Gull was the
highlight at East 72nd St this morning. It was the
closest gull to shore at times, both flying and on the
water. A flyby adult Sharpie was also unusual for the
location. Iceland and Glaucous Gulls (two of each)
were also observed during a temperature-abbreviated
visit.
Emil Bacik and I then headed inland to escape the
sub-zero wind chill. At Jaite, we observed the adult
Northern Shrike and at nearby Oak Hill, 10 Purple
Finches, including three rosy males.
And finally, two Common Redpolls were observed at a
private Medina Co. feeder.
Good birding -
