Greetings birders-
Sorry for the late post-no internet at home. Friday and Saturday I observed a Northern Shrike at the Bath Nature Preserve near Richfield. You can google map the preserve--the address is 4160 Ira Rd, Bath OH.
The Shrike was working the area west of the North Fork Trail--near marker #3 and around pond #4. There are great maps at the trail head showing these locations. The Shrike spent alot of time in the tree in front of the oil well marked D on the map. I saw it eating something in the lower bushes at the base of the tree. On Sat. there were many walkers with dogs, but the bird didn't shy away.
Also seen-
Bluebirds
Am Kestrel--hunting the same area as the Shrike
Am Robins
BC Chickadee
Turkey Vulture
Red-tailed Hawks
WB Nuthatch
N Flicker
Checked the old Coliseum site for Short-eared owls--didn't see any either night.
Bird on-
Sandy Brown
