I spotted a Kestrel at the top of a Spruce tree in the yard this morning,
being mobbed (if two is a mob) by Jays. It was the 44th Yard bird seen this
January, leaving us only six short of the half century goal. Also had 8
bluebirds, and a Pileated fly over. Not counting the Bristle-Thighed
Curlew, there are still about 15 more birds species that might show up, so
we are hopeful that we can reach our goal. The state number stands at 71.
