Greetings,

I drive by an old graveyard between Larue and Kenton..and never stop. It has lots of mature cedar and pine trees so this being the season for owls, I figured that I had better stop and check it out. Glad I did..sort of...sun was starting to get a little low...wind was blowing through the old cedar trees..I had my head up in the trees...my feet stepped on a tree branch and CRACK..all of a sudden what looks to be a barred owl dives out of a tall pine not twenty feet in front of me and swoops up into the air. SHUDDER..glad it wasn't Halloween. :-)

I got a good look at the wings and underside of the bird but that was it. It had owl shaped wings that were sort of creamy white on the underside as well as the torso of the owl was creamy. It wasn't a hawk like a harrier, the wings were too rounded and there wasn't much in the way of scaloping or dark tips. It circled around the area a couple of times but my binocs are terrible so I couldn't get a better view of it.

If there is a Kenton area birder that wants to check it out and maybe confirm it for me then email me and I will let you know where it was.

Later And Happy New Year!

Happy Birding and God Bless

Genesis 1.20

And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky."
