At least two of the three meadowlarks that have been at Frohring this
winter
are still hanging on.  With the exception of a mourning dove, they were
the only birds I saw on a quick walk around the marsh area late this
afternoon.

The pair, in bright yellow plumage,  picked away at the weeds poking
out from the
snow around the paved walk.
