After receiving 7" of snow, we had some blackbirds at our feeder that
didn't look quite like starlings.  Eventually, as one was sitting on
a branch waiting for his turn at the feeder, I saw the tell-tale red
crescent on the shoulder!!  I suspect (if all of them were red-winged
blackbirds) that we had at least 4.  Are there any other folks seeing
them this far north?  Another special treat today was
our red-breasted nuthatch who shows up every 4-5 days.
