It was pretty slow today due to the snow cutting down occasionally on
visibility and making it difficult to fly. Three eagles were around in the
early morning and scaring the gulls. When they first came in they scared up
around 300 gulls that were on the ice. From what I could see, most were
herring gulls, however it was difficult to look through them due to the
snow. Once the eagles left, very few gulls returned. Even when the snow
let up, there were still few birds moving.

The way the lake is looking, the cold weather predicted later this week
should freeze things up pretty quick. About 40% or more of the lake was
covered with floating ice today.
