Hey,
The two Pelicans are still hanging around the Kozy Campground area. There
were 20 Great Blue Herons all fluffed up around the ring of ice at the
waters edge.
At Mercer Wildlife Area, there are so many Canada geese, you can hardly see
the ground!! The numbers of Mallards are up as well.
Also, hanging out with the Pelicans are 6-10 Redhead ducks. A cat was
sneaking along the rocks looking for an injured duck.
And we saw three immature Bald Eagles in that same area. One had a silver
band on his right leg but none on the other!! Did he play with it and take
it off or --- Have to consult with "The Boss". Could have been three of "my
babies" but none of them were banded!
Oh, almost forgot, my January total is up to #39!! They just keep on rollin
in ------ well, I keep hopin' #39 was a female L Scaup (with the
mallards).
Have to find a ROBIN, more woodpeckers, towhee, etc, etc, etc Then watch my
numbers soar!!!!!

Hope you-all enjoy the beautiful snow today - our area looked like a WINTER
WONDERLAND - with huge flakes just floating down - haze in the distance -
and "my" Pelicans!!!

Happy Birding Trails,

Jill Bowers
