A new yard bird today, my first field sparrow--with no fields for miles around!   Carolina wren busy at the suet and all the usual suspects:  house sparrows, house finches, goldfinches, cardinals, juncoes, blue jays, mourning doves, Carolina chickadees, downy woodpecker, red-bellied woodpecker.  Last week finally saw my first yard titmouse, so I'm hoping those Worthington pine siskins will literally cross the tracks and find their way here to the vicinity of Sinclair and 161.  Good 2009 birding!  Pam Unger

The pine tree, the leopard, the Platte River, and ourselves--we are at risk together, or we are on our way to a sustainable world together. We are each other's destiny. --Mary Oliver
