Hey guys,

Dirty Jobs had Mike working with some of our favorite ODNR folks today.(yesterday) Geese banding and checking out Tern nests. The repeat will be on sometime during the next week. Look for "Abandoned Mine Plugger". It was fun to watch. Makes me glad I build cars.

On the bird front, On the way home today, on wildcat Pike, a Great Horned nearly took out my car. Flew across the road about 15 feet in front of me. Flying faster than what I was driving. Scared the snot out of me.

And I need a little help on this one...A Hawk that looked sort of like a red tailed but smaller. Maybe a rough leg? Took out a house sparrow today in MY BACK YARD!! As I was leaving I drove around back and spotted it flying from my neighbors tree, over the fence and took out the bird. I didn't have my camera. It saw me and took it's fresh kill up into a tree and hid from me. It defiantly wasn't a harrier or Red Tailed, it was too small but bigger than a Kestrel. Tail was shortish So I don't think that it was a Coopers.

I hope that it sticks around so that I can document it further.

I'll See all of the Wild ones Saturday...I bought a set of thermals just for the day. :-D Hope to get some pics of the Eagle.

Later

Happy Birding and God bless.

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.
30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

(Matthew 10.29-31)
