The Dicksissel showed up at the feeder at the Blendon Woods Nature Center
about 4:00 pm today (Thursday). The usual collection of central Ohio winter
feeder birds was there, as were perhaps 25 cowbirds. A Carolina wren looked
particularly cold.

A quick walk back to the pond yielded a large flock of Canada geese, along
with much smaller numbers of mallards and black ducks. We did look for
cacklers but -- given the temperature -- it was a awfully quick scan, so we
were not surprised at the lack of results.
