Visited Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo this morning (1/17/2009). Weather
changed as we entered to a snow storm. However, in less than an hour
we observed 50+ White-winged Crossbills and over 24 Common Redpolls.
Most of the birds were observed in the trees and on the road to the
left after you cross the bridge. However, "phishing" at several
hemlocks in other areas of the cemetery produced birds that were
quietly feeding in the trees. The "friendly" Red Fox was also
patrolling the roads.
