Headed to Green Lawn for a short lunch break in hopes of finding the
Common Redpoll reported yesterday--no luck.

However, almost as soon as I entered the park I observed approximately
6 White-winged Crossbills in Section I. Moments later, another flock
(of about 9) landed at the top of a conifer about 100 yards to the
west (Island 4). Finally, the two groups combined a bit further to the
north (Section G) at which time I counted at least 18. I also heard a
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker in this area.

At the feeder, there were 1-2 White-throated Sparrows and 1
White-crowned Sparrow in addition to the usual suspects. The highlight
was a Red-breasted Nuthatch that made a very brief appearance.
