A little before 2 p.m. today, a flock of about a dozen White-winged Crossbills flew into the lone Eastern Hemlock outside my (home) office window.  They are coming and going every few minutes - no doubt feeding at scattered conifers elsewhere on the street.  A few Pine Siskins are mixed with them.  Single male and female Crossbills perched just a few feet beyond the window in the leafless Redbud allowing great close-up views.
